Dortmund coach misses the result in the Champions League
Borussia Dortmund coach Peter Bosz is not satisfied with his team’s 1-1 draw against APOEL Nicosia on the third matchday of Champions League Group H at Nicosia’s GSP Stadium on Wednesday (18/10/2017).
Dortmund left behind first goal by Mickael Pote in the 62nd minute before Sokratis Papastathopoulos hit back in the 67th minute.
One point from the game put Dortmund in third place Group H with one point.
Peter Bosz as tactics interpreter is not satisfied with the results.
“The draw is disappointing, we have played well at the start but it does not continue, Dortmund is slowing down,” he said.
In particular, Bosz regrets the failure of his team to score quick goals and instead must overcome the backwardness.
“In a game like this, it is important that Dortmund score first, we had that chance in the first half but failed to take advantage of it,” said the former Ajax Amsterdam coach.
The Dutchman was disappointed with the appearance of his team’s goal machine, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, for failing to score.
“It was a difficult day for Aubameyang, he did not get much room and bait, but he should be able to take advantage of the opportunities he has,” Bosz said.
Dortmund will replace APOEL Nicosia at BVB Stadion Dortmund on 2 November 2017.
Aubameyang et al must win to at least finish third in Group H and play in the Europa League.
“We know our position is now difficult, but Dortmund must win at home versus APOEL and see what happens in the next two games (versus Tottenham Hotspur and Real Madrid),” Bosz said.
